HALF TERM TOUR CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE AND ACADEMY GAMES
FEBRUARY HALF TERM MONDAY 15TH FEBRUARY – FRIDAY 19TH FEBRUARY 2010 Under 13s, Under 14s, Under 15s, Under 16s To all Parents and Players, During the FEBRUARY Half Term from Monday 15th February 2010 until Friday 19th February 2010 we will be travelling initially to the East Anglia for games against Ipswich on the Monday and Histon on the Tuesday. Wednesday shall be a rest day when we shall travel to the Yorkshire area . Wednesday Afternoon will be leisure time for the players to possibly go shopping or cinema or some other activity. Thursday will be games against Barnsley’s Academy and Friday against Notts County Centre of Excellence. This is very good opportunity for players to play against the very best of the country’s top talent. For the older age groups in particular, this is a good opportunity for boys to be scouted by professional football clubs for possible scholarship places. Jack Ord and Tom Ellacott have both attended week long trials at Ipswich, with Tom Ellacott been invited up for a second week in February 2010. Jack Ord is currently waiting to go in on trial at Barnsley. We wish both players well and hope to be celebrating similar stories following this trip. After Friday’s game, we shall start the journey home dropping off at the various pick up/drop off points. Players from various Centres will be invited, squads will have a max 0f 18 players including 2 Goalkeepers Monday 15th February 2010 Under 14s, Under 15/16ss – IPSWICH TOWN ACADEMY – 2PM Kick off TUESDAY 16 February 2010 Under 13s, Under 14s, Under 15s - HISTON WEDNESDAY 17TH FEBRUARY 2010 Rest/Leisure Day Thursday 18th February 2010 Under 13s, Under 14s, Under 15/16s – BARNSLEY FOOTBALL CLUB ACADEMY – 2pm Kick Off Friday 19th February 2010 Under 13s, Under 14s, Under 15/16s – NOTTS COUNTY CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE – 2pm Kick Off Under 15s/16s – BARNSLEY, NOTTS COUNTY, HISTON and IPSWICH all mix there best 15s with their 16s so consequently we shall have 1 squad which shall be a mixture of 15s and 16s when we play these professional clubs. Lead Coaches all Level 3 or above– Under 13’s – Karl Blacker, Under 14’s – Martin Jones, Under 15/16s – Stuart Henderson We will stay in a Premier Inn in the Colchester Area on Monday and Tuesday area, this is situated next to Colchester Leisure World which comprises of Full size Astro Turf for training sessions, Football Courts, Swimming Pools and various other facilities and is situated very close to the various shops in the City Centre. On the Wednesday and Thursday we shall stay in a Premier Inn in the Meadowlands Shopping Centre, Sheffield . The tour will also include a Breakfast Buffett so players can start their day in the best possible way. Players will be required to have money for an evening meal and snacks, drinks during the day. The cost of the tour this year will be £295.00 per person. This is fantastic value for money which includes, Breakfast buffet, travel, insurance, ancillary vehicle, staffing, cleaning of kits etc. Accommodation will be based on 4 people sharing a family room. A deposit of £100.00 will be required cheques to be made out to Elite Development Centre, and sent to the address below. Deposit needs to be received by Monday 25th January 2010. The remainder of the payment (£195 will need to be in on or before Monday 8th February 2010. A more detailed itinerary will be passed out to each player closer to the date once the kick off times and venues etc are finalised. There will be room for parents to attend but please note accommodation will be based on 4 people sharing a room, and the costs will be the same.
